    Fear of Flying Courses By Pilots:

    Explain how flying works, offer statistics, and teach relaxation exercises.
    Adequate for mild flight anxiety (no panic attacks, no claustrophobia, no fear of heights).

    Therapy for fear of flying:

    CBT: effective for ordinary anxiety; little effect on flight anxiety.
    EMDR: highly effective for trauma; does not work for flight anxiety.

    Medication:

Does nothing at all for one person in three.
Only takes the edge off for two people out of three.

Hypnotism:

"Hit or miss" depending upon the skill of the hypnotist.
Temporary benefit at best.
